Expert Solution
Step 1

If three dice are rolled, then number of possible outcomes of sample space is 6×6×6=216

Sample space, S=x,y,z:x,y,z=1,2,3,4,5,6

Let A be the event of at least one of three three die shows number 3,

And A' is the event of none of the three die shows number 3, then the number of outcomes of the A' can be found out as:

If number 3 not taken, there will be 5 possible outcomes from the  first die, 5 possible outcomes from the  second die and 5 possible outcomes from the third die.

So, By using counting principle, the total number of outcomes of the event A' is given by

5×5×5=125
