Identify locations of gomphoses, sutures, and syndesmoses in
the body
Joints is a location or place in the body where two or more bones interact with each other. They are usually categorized on the basis of their structure and function. Joints present in our body allow movement along with providing support mechanically.
It is the fibrous joints which are connected with dense connective tissues consisting mainly of collagen. These joints are usually fixed and immovable since they lack a joint cavity and require strength and stability over a range of motion. The bones of our skull are connected by fibrous joints known as sutures.
Tendons and ligaments attach to bones and the main task of these tissues is to provide forces to bones.
