I have two objects that I am using to race down a track, object A covers a distance of 15 meters at a rate of 0.15s interval while object B also covers a distance of 15 meters as the first object but is going at a slighter delayed interval rate of 0.20s. The question at hand is, how do I reach the same speed rate as that of object A without changing the interval rate, meaning what will be the new distance that needs to be covered for object B in order for it to compensate for the delayed interval rate? Note: So bascially object A is essentially getting a head start with a 0.05s ahead of object B. Object A: Covers 15 meters of distance every 0.15 seconds. Object B: Covers 15 meters of distance every 0.20 seconds. Goal: If Object A was racing down the track, what will the new distance for Object B need to cover in order for it to match the rate that Object A is covering?
Equations and Inequations
Equations and inequalities describe the relationship between two mathematical expressions.
Linear Functions
A linear function can just be a constant, or it can be the constant multiplied with the variable like x or y. If the variables are of the form, x2, x1/2 or y2 it is not linear. The exponent over the variables should always be 1.
