How our choices affect the environment?
A place where different things, such as a swampy or hot environment are present is called an environment. It includes both non-living (abiotic) or living (biotic) things. It includes both physical and biological factors. They adapt themselves to conditions in their environment and constantly interact with these factors.
Types of environment are:
- Atmosphere
- Hydrosphere
- Lithosphere
- Biosphere.
A community of living organisms which also interact with the non-living factors of their environment, while interacting as a whole system is called an ecosystem. These abiotic and biotic components are linked through nutrient cycles and energy flows together. The system gains energy by photosynthesis which incorporates into plant tissue. Animals feed on plants and on one other and also play a crucial role in the movement of energy and matter among them. Some external and internal factors control ecosystem, such as climate and parent material. They further form topography and soil control on overall structure of an ecosystem but are not affected by the ecosystem themselves.
The different types of the ecosystem include:
- Freshwater ecosystem.
- Marine ecosystem.
- Terrestrial ecosystem.
- Desert ecosystem.
- Tundra ecosystem.
- Forest ecosystem.
- Grassland ecosystem
