Expert Solution
Step 1

Molarity = No. of moles of Cl-Vol of soln (mL) ×1000.75 = n50.0 m2 ×100n= 0.75 × 501000 n= 0.0375 moles of Cl-Now, CaCl2  Ca2+ + 2Cl-1 mole of CaCl2 gives 2 moles of Cl-2 moles of Cl- formed = 1 mole of CaCl-0.0375 moles of Cl- formed = 12 × 0.0375 = 0.01875 moles Molecular Mass of CaCl2 = 110.98 gmolMass of CaCl2 needed = moles of CaCl2 × Molecular Mass                                          = 110.98 × 0.01875 = 2.08 g
