How LVDT is used to measure position and displacement? Explain the working of LVDT?

Let us first understand what an LVDT is -
LVDT stands for A linear variable differential transformers (LVDT)
The LVDT is a type of displacement sensor. LVDTs work on the same idea as transformers. A coil assembly and a core make up an LVDT, as shown in Figure. The coil assembly is usually attached to a stationary form, while the core is connected to the object being measured. Three-wire coils are twisted on the hollow body to make up the coil assembly. A permeable material core can freely move through the form's center. The primary coil, as depicted, is the inner coil, which is activated by an AC source. The primary coil's magnetic flux is connected to the two secondary coils, resulting in an AC voltage in each coil. In the hub of the cylindrical former is one primary winding.
