Pluralist theory of power is based on the theory of Functionalism. Functionalism is a major sociological theory which states that society's part are interlinked and disorder in any part creates a problem in the entire structure. So coming to the pluralist theory of power, it is related on the functionalism theory, mainly following parsons ideas, it focusses on society's stability, equilibrium, and gradual change, hence society is decentralised. It also states that power is widely shared and fragmented, and it comes from multiple sources. The emergence of diverse group with conflicting interests such that no one plays any dominant role, as now one has the ultimate power to control.
