Its topography determines in large part how and where its inhabitants live and its environment impacts agriculture and lifestyles.
Japan is situated on the archipelago of the islands. It comprises of 5 main and thousands(6,852) of smaller islands. Japan is an island nation comprising a 3000 km stratovolcanic archipelago on the Pacific Coast of East Asia. The five 5 major islands are Honshu, Hokkaido, Shikoku, Kyushu, and Okinawa. The Islands of Ryukyu and Nanpō are in the east and south of the major islands.The Japanese depended on the sea for so many facets of their daily lives.
