The Great Compromise was an agreement among the delicates that there would be two houses in the congress- the Senate and the House of the Representatives in the constitutional conventions. In Senate each state would be consisting of two senators and the House of the Representative would have several representatives, and that would be based on the population.

To make the government's smooth functioning constitution was ratified by all the 13 states and agreed to make various compromises.
The three important compromises were the Great compromise, Three-Fifths compromise and Electoral College. 
The Great compromise solved the issue of representation within the federal government. 
The Three-Fifths solved the issue of representation of the enslaved population of southern states and enslaved Africans.
