Beam is defined as curved beam, with its neutral axis bent in without loaded state. Curved beam neutral axis and centroid angle may not overlap. Neutral axis of curved frames is transferred to curvature core. Throughout the situation of curved beam, its bending force often changes hyperbolically with both the length from of the neutral axis and the difference is not regular, just like straight beams.

For stress analysis in the curved beam following assumptions are made 

  1. Analyzed portion is far from the loads applied.
  2. The beam is charged in alignment with the plane.
  3. Cross section remain same and perpendicular to the neutral axis.
  4. Material is homogeneous and follows hooke's law . 
  5. Bending in the section is pure.
  6. The stresses are below the proportional range, and there are minor deflections.
