How are peroxisomes different from lysosomes? In terms of where they are made and what their functions are.
-Difference between lysosomes and peroxisomes is that;
*Lysosomes are found only in animals where as the peroxisomes are found in all eukaryotes.
*Lysosomes which is also known as the suicidal bag carries the degradation enzymes where as the peroxisomes carries the enzyme for oxidation reactions and for metabolic degradation of hydrogen peroxides. (Structure & Function)
* Lysosomes are bigger in size where as the peroxisomes are comparatively smaller in size.
*Lysosomes contains the enzymes which are degradative or destructive in nature where as the peroxisomes contain the enzyme which are oxidative in nature.
