On simplification, we get

2x2-4x-3=2x2-2x-3=2x2-2x+1-1-3=2x2-2x+1-2-3=2x-12-5

Now comparing with fx=ax-h2+k, we get

h=1 & k=-5.

Therefore vertex is,

h, k=1, -5
