Hello, What else would you add to this description of Tapeworms? A short curious information it is enought :) Tapeworms are member of the Phylum Platyhelminthes family, also known as cestode. They are known for being intestinal parasites, Adult tapeworms are typically found in the small intestines, while certain larvae can perforate intestinal walls and  travel through the bloostream into the eyes, muscles and brain; causing and arrange of symptoms such as seizures, abnormal heartbeat, cyst, and body weakness. On the otherhand, adult tapeworms are usually tolerated pretty well, host can be asymptomatic, or have mild symptoms such as dyspepsia, anorexia, localized pain, nausea, and diarrhea. Tapeworms can also reach a size in their host that can cause intestinal blockage. These kind of adult parasites are usually acquired through contaminated meat form a intermiate host, and contaminated water; while larvae is attained through the ingestion of eggs through fecal matter. Treratment includes anti-helminthic medication like praziquantel, and niclosamide. As a healthcare professional its important to be able to recognize the signs and symptoms this pathogen can cause in order to properly help our patients, getting them proper treatment, and avoiding unnecessary stress or test.  Structure: Body of a worm consist of Scolex, neck, and units of proglottids called strobila, that gives the worm the appereance of strip of tape. They are hermaphroditic flatworms consisting of both male and female reproductive parts. Therefore they can reproduce on its own, Mature proglottids are found in the tails of the worm and leave through feces, while immature proglottids are found in the neck. Adult worms can contain up to 1,000 segments and 30,000 to 100,000 eggs.  THANK YOU  in advance!
