Bronsted Lowry Base In Inorganic Chemistry
Bronsted-Lowry base in inorganic chemistry is any chemical substance that can accept a proton from the other chemical substance it is reacting with.
When HCl is added to the alkene ,It is added according to Markovnikov's rule .
Markovnikov's rule: It states that negative part of the reagent attaches to the carbon of double bond which bears the least number of hydrogen atoms.
Here Cl- is the negative apart of reagent.
KMnO4 is a powerful oxidizing agent.
When Alkene is treated with KMnO4 in acid(H3O+) ,the C=C bond completely breaks up and oxidizes to carboxylic acid.
