This study examined the influence of an 8-week program designed to help 24 patients recover from the effects
of a stroke. All subjects were evaluated at the start of the program and after Week 8. The recovery status of each
subject at each time was evaluated using the Barthel Index. The Barthel Index gave a single overall score for
motor function. Higher scores indicate better functional ability.

Barthel Index score prior to therapy. Scaled from 1 to 100, where higher
