Step 1-Introduction
The structure of an unknown molecule can be determined by analyzing the spectroscopical results such as proton NMR, 13C-NMR, infrared, and mass spectra (HRMS, LCMS). The proton NMR spectra are highly useful in predicting the number of chemically and magnetically non-equivalent protons present in the molecule.
The existence of a different number of carbon atoms in a molecule can be observed by its 13C spectra. The chemical shift values of a molecule in proton and 13C-NMR spectra show the numerical value of the positions in the spectra. Besides, they also add the interaction of the magnetic field with the protons associated with the molecule.
