Stimulus control refers to the phenomenon where a certain behavior occurs only in the presence of certain cues. It explains that the behavior of an organism is influenced by the presence or absence of a stimulus, thus the name stimulus control, determining that our behavior is under control of a stimulus/cue. On the other hand, discriminative stimulus is a stimulus in whose presence a response will be rewarded or reinforced. This is because the behavior was reinforced in the presence of that stimulus and thus the conditioning between the two was formed.
