10:03 AM B. Explain why Image 1 illustrates the concept of intensive agriculture.
Agriculture refers to the entire process where the soil is cultivated, crops are grown, and livestock is raised. There are broadly two types of agricultural methods: intensive agriculture and extensive agriculture.
Intensive agriculture refers to the system of agriculture, where large amounts of labour and capital are used. The land area is not much, but the productivity per area of the land is very high. Hence, the amount of crops grown per area of the land is high.
Extensive agriculture refers to the system of agriculture, where small amounts of labour and capital are used. The land area is bigger. Hence, the amount of crops grown per area of the land is lower. Extensive agriculture does not require the use of chemicals.
