Water sloshes back and forth in a tank as shown below. The frequency of sloshing, ω, is assumed to be a function of the acceleration of gravity,
g, the average depth of the water, h, and the length of the tank, l. Develop a suitable set of dimensionless parameters for this problems using g and l
as repeating variables.
Assume 4 tests were completed with l = 5 m and g = 9.81 m/s^2 held constant. The head was varied between 0.8 m and 3.2 m and the frequency (ω) was measured. The data is shown below. Utilizing the PI terms you developed and excel, develop a function similar to what we did in class. Plot that function with the data points and display the R^2 and equation. Discuss why you chose the model (function) that you did.
Additionally, write out the equation that you select with the PI terms
incorporated.
