Introduction

Support: An indicator of a product's popularity throughout all product transactions is called support. By dividing the total of transactions even by the number of transactions involving the product, support again for the product is calculated.

Support is equal to (the number of transactions containing that product) (Total number of transactions)

Confidence: Confidence can be described as that of the likelihood of purchasing both item A and B. Confidence is measured by dividing the number of transactions containing both A and B by the volume of transactions containing only product A.

Confidence (A=>B) = (Number of transactions, where both transactions contain A and B)/ (Number of transactions  that include only product A)
