For the spring mass system described in Question 1, what is the maximum speed in m/s of
the object as it vibrates?
Transcribed Image Text:For the spring mass system described in Question 1, what is the maximum speed in m/s of the object as it vibrates?
A spring stretches 10.0 cm when a mass of 700g is hung from it. Now this mass is replaced
by an an object with mass 550 g on the same spring. It is placed on a horizontal frictionless
table, pulled 12.5 cm away from its equilibrium position, and released.
Write an equation which describes the position of this vibrating object as a function of time
as it moves back and forth. Assume the object is at 12.5 cm at time t = 0. Type the equation
in the box below.
