Question
Fill in the blank The four laws of thermodynamics are as follows( not necessarily in order): for a spontaneous process, the ____ of the isolated system increases. If A is in ___ with B, Is in ___ with C, then C is also in ___ with A. The __of a perfectly ordered crystal at 0 k is equal to zero. The total ___ energy ___ of the universe is constant
Expert Solution
Step 1

1. For a spontaneous process , the entropy of the isolated system increases.

This is second law of  thermodynamics. Entropy is defined as randomness of the system. If the process is spontaneous then the randomness increases and hence entropy.

2. . If A is in thermal equilibrium with B, Is in thermal equilibrium with C, then C is also in  thermal equilibrium with A.

This is zeroth law of thermodynamics. It says if first system is in thermal equilibrium with second system and second system is in thermal equilibrium with third system . Then first and third system will be in thermal equilibrium with each other.
