Nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum is obtained when a nucleus absorbs radio frequency and cause spin flip from low energy state to high energy state in the presence of external magnetic field.
Chemical shift represents the resonance frequency of the nucleus that undergoes spin flip and it is relative to standard external magnetic field. It is measured in ppm (parts per million).
Multiplicity represents the number of surrounding hydrogens on the next carbon in the structure.
It helps a lot to identify the way of linkage in the carbon chain.
Integration represents the area under the nmr peak and it is proportional to the number of hydrogen atoms.
Assignment is nothing but to assign each peak to a proton in the molecule under investigation.
