Based on the results of Pew Research Center’s research on the global distribution of major religions 1.6 billion people identified themselves as Muslims. Christians constitute the largest of proportion (2.2 billion) of the world population of almost 7 billion in 2010. There are about 1 billion Hindus. Five hundred million Buddhists, and 14 million Jews around the world. Around 400 million belong to folk or indigenous religions, while 58 million subscribe to other religions such as Baha’l, Jainism, Sikhism, Shinto, Taoism, and Zoroastrianism.
