1. The current state of the process is written to memory by the central processing unit.
2. The new process is loaded into memory by the central processing unit.
3. The status of the new process is retrieved from memory and restored by the CPU.
4. The central processing unit (CPU) starts carrying out the new process.
5. When the new process is finished, the computer's central processing unit will save its state in memory.
6. The previous process is loaded into memory by the CPU.
7. The CPU will retrieve the previous process's saved state from memory and then restore it.
8. The CPU will once again begin carrying out the previous process.
9. The previous operation finishes, and the central processing unit writes its state to memory.
10. While it is waiting, the CPU loads the process into memory.
11. The status of the idle process is retrieved from memory by the CPU and restored.
12. The CPU starts carrying out the idle procedure and waiting for input.
13. After the completion of the idle process, the CPU will save its current state in memory.
