The respiratory system is a network of organs and tissue that plays a role in mammals' breathing process. It includes lungs, alveoli, capillaries, and more. The lungs and the blood are the central part of the respiratory system.
During the process of respiration where the oxygen is distributed to the tissues and cells of the body. When the oxygen-rich blood by binding with hemoglobin enters the capillary gas exchange occurs, deoxygenated blood containing carbon dioxide is removed from the tissues. It travels back to the heart, where it is pumped into the pulmonary arteries to the lungs. Once the oxygen is reached the lungs, it diffuses with the alveoli and capillaries and removes out from the body.
