Explain the relationship between mechanical advantage and efficiency. Use an example making a reference to ideal and actual mechanical advantage of a simple machine.

Mechanical advantage refers to the ratio of the output force produced by a machine to the input force applied to the machine. Efficiency, on the other hand, refers to the ratio of the useful output energy or work produced by a machine to the total input energy or work supplied to the machine. In simple terms, mechanical advantage describes how much the machine multiplies force, while efficiency describes how much of the input energy is converted into useful output energy or work.
The ideal mechanical advantage (IMA) of a simple machine is the theoretical mechanical advantage that would be achieved in the absence of friction and other losses. The actual mechanical advantage (AMA), on the other hand, takes into account the effects of friction and other losses, and is always less than the IMA.
