Explain the process of glacial plucking.
The glaciers undergo the process of erosion by different modes. One of the ways of erosion in glaciers is called glacial plucking.
As the name suggests, plucking is a mechanical erosion action by the glacial ices. In this process, as the ice slides through the glacier surface, the ice's sharp surfaces and ice force cause the breaking of weak bedrock. This action causes fragmentation of bedrock, which is later carried by the moving ice through the glacier slope. In the end, the rock particles are collected at the base of the slope.
