Explain the functions of a lymph node.

The lymph node is referred to as a small bean-shaped structure that belongs to the immune system. It is principally comprised of lymph fluid that contains immune cells.

The function of the lymph node are as follows-

• It helps in filtration by detecting an infection and generate an immune response.
• The lymph node has immune cells that are white blood cells circulating in the blood and present in lymph and encounter the pathogen to protect the body.
• The lymph node is also responsible for removing the extra fluid from the tissues.
• It also helps in fatty acid absorption and transportation of fat.
