Explain the difference between ‘gearing up’ and ‘gearing down’ in terms of both torque and speed.
Gearing Up and Gearing Down
When there is a larger gear which is connected to motor and it turns a comparative smaller gear which basically is the output gear – that might be connected to the wheel, the smaller gear will turn many times per rotation of larger gear.
In simple terms, It means that the wheel will turn faster, this is called as the ‘gearing up’ for the speed.
