Direct Addressing Mode

In direct addressing mode, no intermediary memory access is necessary since the effective address of the operand is included in the instruction's address field. It is hardly used these days.

Indirect Addressing Mode

When using indirect addressing, the address field of the instruction specifies the memory region or register in which the operand's effective address is stored. Two memory accesses are required. In addition, it is divided into two groups: Register Indirect and Memory Indirect.
