Electronic circuits with multiple inputs and a single output are called logic gates. The basic logic gates are the NOT gate, the AND gate and the OR gate. The AND gate is also known as the inverter. When an electronic circuit uses an AND gate then it produces high output if all the inputs are high. On the other hand if one or more than one input is high then an OR gate produces a high output. The NOT gate produces simply the inverted version of the output at the input.
