Explain Max Weber's philosophy and perspectives

Expert Solution
Introduction

Max Weber belonged to Munich. He was a contemporary of Darwin and Marx. Though along with Marx and Durkheim, Max Weber is also known as the principal architect of modern social science. The two most popularized work of weber is “the rationalization thesis” and “Protestant Ethics.” His methodological writings have given modern social science a self-identity.

Elaboration

Weber’s philosophy is not a coherent philosophy; his work has always been focused on economic sociology and the sociology of religion. In the thesis of Protestant, Ethics weber has related capitalism to Protestantism, where he philosophized the ascetic Protestant as one of the ‘elected affinities’ to rise the market.

Weber’s focus primarily was like Marx; the attention was on the structure of the society, which lays on some elements like class, status, and power. According to Weber, both status and power get influenced by class. But unlike Marx, he believed that these elements form the base of society.
