Expert Solution
Step 1: Immune System

The immune system is one of the most complex systems present in human beings. It is comparable to the complexity of the nervous system. The immune system is divided into two parts: innate immunity and adaptive immunity. Innate immunity is present since birth. This comprises the physiological barriers such as skin, tears, and mucous membrane; chemical barriers such as the acidic conditions prevailing in the stomach, and the various white blood corpuscles such as macrophages and neutrophils are also involved in providing innate immunity. On the other hand, adaptive immune system comprises specialized cells that can have a specific reaction towards a pathogen. These specialized reactions are carried out by the T-cells and B-cells. The immune system as a whole has various components. This includes the cells known as leukocytes, that are divided into granular and agranular leukocytes, various system proteins known as the opsonins, the complement systems that aids the functioning of the immune system, and a lot of other systems.
