Explain Ground freezing technique.
Explain Ground freezing technique.

Ground freezing is a technique of soil stabilisation conducted by continuous soil refrigeration.
Ground freezing is a method of turning pore water or pores into ice by continuously refrigeration of the soil.
The soil bearing water is lose and has inadequate shear strength and compressive strength to withhold its own loads. To make the water bearing strata temporarily impermeable and enhance these strengths, ground freezing method is used.
Ground freezing technique is generally done to avoid the flow of groundwater into the site area, offer temporary support and structural underpinning. When the strata bearing water is frizzed, the water in it changes into ice becoming a seal against the water and increases the strength of the soil.
