Explain Early Cultures and Egyptian Domination 2300–1100 b.c.e.

Expert Solution
Step 1

There were a large number of civilisations that emerged in the Middle Eastern and African region in the ancient period. The most popular of these was the Egyptian civilisation. Between the fourth and second millennium BCE, ancient Egypt was ruled by three kingdoms - The Old Kingdom, the Middle Kingdom and the New Kingdom.

Another, Nubia, was one of the most ancient among them, next to the river Nile, adjacent to Egypt. It received goods from both the African continent and the Mediterranean region. Since ancient times, there was a good economic relationship between Nubia and Egypt based on trade and exchanges. These linkages also led to various cultural similarities between the two. Egypt had always been very interested in the riches of Nubia, such as precious metals like gold and copper. Old Kingdom Egypt was dependent on its trade with Nubia. This dynamic would be altered with later Kingdoms.
