Chang'an was a historical capital of about ten empires in the history of China which in the time of today is known by the name of Xi'an and is located in the province of Shaanxi. The dynasty of Chang'an is a word meaning "Perpetual Peace".  In the Traditional Chinese era, it was the only empire that was continuously used as the capital by new Chinese authorities. During the rule of the Xin dynasty, the province was named "Constant Peace" but with the decline of this dynast,y its old name was reclaimed. 

Chang'an had been resolved since the duration of the Neolithic, during which the Yangshao Society was founded in Banpo.
