Explain Caves at Ajanta
- The Ajanta Caves are almost 30 rock-cut Buddhist cave shrines or sculptures that pursue from the starting of the 2nd century BCE to the end of 480 CE in Aurangabad which is a district in Maharashtra, a state of India.
- The caves comprise masterpieces and rock-cut monuments characterized as among the excellent existing illustrations of historical Indian paintings, especially meaningful compositions that illustrate feelings through gesticulation, posture and pattern.
- While the primary objective of the caves was to commemorate the honour of Gautama Buddha's existence and accomplishments, they also deliver significant knowledge into the Buddhist power and belief network and the contemplation of its importance in paintings.
- They are the set of 29 caves, Ajanta is among the excellent instances of some of the initial Buddhist architecture, cave compositions and statues.
