Explain Asian Trade and Communication Routes
Transportation and communication are essential for the evolution of society. Europe made some very important breakthroughs regarding the construction and engineering of canals and roads between 1450-1750. However, the travel and communication still remained more or less the same as it was in the middle ages. Significant advancements were made in the sphere of ocean transport. Ships were constructed that could sail big seas and many navigational devices for the purpose of guiding people on the voyages also developed.
It was because of these inventions that Europeans could achieve success in reaching Asia and the New World. Their voyages of exploration gave them access to many new markets and labor sources. All this greatly enhanced the power and riches of Europe. Inland commerce had greater importance in the economy of Europe and so transportation by land and water routes was more important than oceanic navigation.
