Expert Solution
Step 1

The behaviours that deviants from social norms are dysfunctional and causes discomfort or agony are considered abnormal. The emerging thinking patterns are likely to hinder their daily functioning like self-care or fulfilment of tasks. The proponents of psychology explain abnormal behaviours through a different perspective, few are as follows:

  •  Biological perspective views abnormal behaviour a result of an individual's genetic makeup or history of trauma or infections. It accounts for genetic vulnerability to develop disorders.
  • The psychodynamic perspective states that abnormal deviant behaviours emerge due to the influence of unconscious repressed taught or negative childhood experiences or issues that are not resolved.
  • The behavioural perspective states that abnormal behaviour is learned by forming associations or by positive or negative reinforcement of behaviours. The behaviours only receiving positive reinforcements are facilitated.
  • The cognitive perspective states that impairment in the taught or pattern of the relating patterns causes abnormal behaviours.
  • The biopsychosocial perspective views abnormal behaviour as a product of the complex interplay of genetics factors, behaviour factors, and environmental factors.
