**Task:** Determine the oxidation state for each of the elements below.
1. **Iodine in Iodic Acid (HIO₃):**
The oxidation state of iodine is selectable from a dropdown menu, which includes options ranging from -7 to +7. The default selection is +5.
2. **Nitrogen in Nitrite Ion (NO₂⁻):**
The oxidation state of nitrogen is also selectable from the same dropdown menu with the same range of options.
3. **Carbon in Methane (CH₄):**
Similarly, choose the oxidation state of carbon from the dropdown menu, with options from -7 to +7.
