Ionic Equilibrium
Chemical equilibrium and ionic equilibrium are two major concepts in chemistry. Ionic equilibrium deals with the equilibrium involved in an ionization process while chemical equilibrium deals with the equilibrium during a chemical change. Ionic equilibrium is established between the ions and unionized species in a system. Understanding the concept of ionic equilibrium is very important to answer the questions related to certain chemical reactions in chemistry.
Arrhenius Acid
Arrhenius acid act as a good electrolyte as it dissociates to its respective ions in the aqueous solutions. Keeping it similar to the general acid properties, Arrhenius acid also neutralizes bases and turns litmus paper into red.
Bronsted Lowry Base In Inorganic Chemistry
Bronsted-Lowry base in inorganic chemistry is any chemical substance that can accept a proton from the other chemical substance it is reacting with.
![**Question 16 on Equilibrium in Endothermic Reactions:**
For the following endothermic reaction at equilibrium:
\[ 2\text{SO}_3(g) \rightleftharpoons 2\text{SO}_2(g) + \text{O}_2(g) \]
Which of the following will increase the value of the equilibrium constant \( K \)?
**Options:**
- A) Removing \(\text{SO}_3(g)\) (at constant temperature)
- B) Adding \(\text{SO}_2(g)\) (at constant temperature)
- C) Adding a catalyst (at constant temperature)
- D) Increasing the temperature
**Correct Answer:**
- D) Increasing the temperature
**Explanation:**
In endothermic reactions, increasing the temperature shifts the equilibrium position to the right, favoring the formation of products, and increases the value of the equilibrium constant \( K \).](/v2/_next/image?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcontent.bartleby.com%2Fqna-images%2Fquestion%2F055086f6-4d26-404b-b10d-4e78791428d4%2F8240b6d9-5acb-45d7-9d3a-b1558fc6abf3%2Fq3an7m_processed.jpeg&w=3840&q=75)
