Step 1: Introduce the reaction

These are the reduction reaction of ester compound.

In the first reaction,as we know that LiAlH4 is strongest reducing agent,so at first it convert the ester into corresponding aldehyde and then aldehyde further react with LiAlH4 convert to primary alcohol.

In the second reaction,as DIBAL-H is mild reducing agent so it transform the ester into corresponding aldehyde but it doesn't convert aldehyde to primary alcohol.
