Friction: It is the force resisting the relative motion of fluid layers ,solid surfaces,and material elements that are sliding against each other.

Friction always acts opposite direction in which point of contact moved.

 There are several types of friction those are Dry friction and Fluid friction.

Dry friction: It is the force that opposes the relative motion of two solid surfaces are in contact.

 For a friction between solids depends on different factors such as 

1.Nature of the surface they are in contact.If they are rough surfaces friction will be more if surfaces are smooth friction will be less.

2. Depends on force of moving body.

3.But friction force of solids does not depend on relative speed on motion.

4. Friction between solids however,because solid particles are bound by electromagnetic force in fixed positions, friction

only happens at the surface of contact, and is independent of the relative velocity.
