Anatolia refers to the Asia Minor area situated in the western part of Asia and geographically a large peninsula from the Black Sea to Armenian highlands and the Mediterranean Sea.
Anatolia came from the Greek word East and is consists of modern Turkey. In ancient history, the Hattians and Achaemenid Empire resided in the sixth century BCE. After the classical period of Anatolian history, by Persian Empire and Ottomans established dominance in Anatolia and Eastern European regions. Ottoman Empire ruled vast Anatolia and Eastern Europe till the nineteenth century, but it was not the only authority. The Russian Empire under Tsar also had a strong effect in creating modern states in modern after the decline of the Ottoman Empire. The Balkan wars occurred among the Russian empire, Armenian kingdom, Ottoman Empire, and other eastern European states.
