Agglutination is the clumping of particles. That means if an antigen is mixed with the corresponding antibody then the process is described as agglutination. This term is frequently used in the blood grouping. The clumping of cells such as bacteria or red blood cells in the presence of antibody or complement serum proteins allows antibodies to bind multiple particles and joins them creating a large complex.
