Description Let the science project begin! For your first lab you will be setting up some Winogradsky columns. The directions for your set-up are outlined in the pdf titled "Winogradsky Column Lab". You will be making regular observations and taking notes - space for this is provided in the pdf as well. You will be coming back to these columns when we get to the biodiversity section of the course. For this assignment, you will simply be uploading a photo of your columns. These need to sit for anywhere from 4-6 weeks before you make your final observations, so don't wait too long to start this one! Make sure you have enough sediment in your columns and they are well labeled. They need some sunlight, and make sure you are storing them in an outdoor space that gets some (but not too much direct sunlight).
