Introduction:
Several vital functions are carried out by the female reproductive system. Th ova (eggs) which is important for reproduction to place are produced by the female reproductive system. This ova then gets transported to the fertilization site where, it fuses with the male sperm, if available and this is referred to as fertilization. Fertilization usually takes place in the fallopian tube. This fertilized egg has to reach the uterus to get implanted into the uterine walls for the continuation of pregnancy. If there is no sperm available for the egg to get fused, the uterine lining sheds off which is termed as menstrual cycle. In addition to this, reproductive system of the females is responsible for the production of the sexual hormones that maintains the overall female reproductive health.
