Spirituality:
Spiritual care in nursing is very important in that it plays an important role in the nurse-patient relationship.it can be defined as one's self-awareness and connections with nature, supreme being, or some purpose greater than themselves. Spirituality is a personal belief of an individual which helps them in maintaining hope and tackling difficult situations. The health of the person depends mainly on the balance between cultural, physical, psychological, emotional, sociological as well as spiritual variables.
Nurses and health care providers do not recognize the patient's spiritual dimension, because the majority of them think spirituality has to deal with religion, but actually, spirituality is a broader concept compared to religion. According to the recent and current research health and spirituality are linked and thus nurses will have to understand the concepts of faith, religion, spiritual well-being, spirituality, hope in order to provide supportive spiritual care to the patient.
