Tubular secretion is referred to as a phenomenon in which transfer of material occurs from tubular capillaries towards tubular lumen and it occurs opposite to reabsorption.
The tubular secretion is important as it produces waste liquid like urine and helps the body to get rid of waste and maintains the fluid balance and acid-base balance in the body. It helps in the removal of poisons, toxins, and other substances that are interfering with the homeostatic condition of the body.
The several substances which are secreted in tubular secretion include hydrogen ion, creatinine, other ions and waste products like poisons and drugs.
